2020 Canadian Peony Society Floral Design Demonstration, by yours truly.
I'm beyond excited to say that I've been asked to contribute to the Canadian Peony Society's Virtual 2020 Peony Festival by recording a short floral design demonstration video. I am humbled and so grateful for the trust the CPS placed in me by giving me full creative license to record whatever I thought would be suitable. They truly believed in me and my experience and I am so thankful for this amazing opportunity to share my passion. This video was recorded back in May and I've been holding off on sharing it until it went live on the CPS website, so it feels great to finally get it out into the world. In the video I explore the design technique of lacing and discuss what I believe are important elements and considerations of floral design. This video is part of an effort by the CPS to take elements of the postponed annual show, which was to be held in Regina, and move them online so that we can enjoy peonies from the safety of our homes. The online festival allows us to maintain a sense of connectivity and community with our fellow members despite travel and gathering restrictions and everything else that is going currently going on in this wild world of ours. My submissions is part of a suite of content produced by talented creators that includes the like of floral designers, artists, and gardening enthusiasts. I am honoured to be included in their company. The videos will be embedded below along with the CPS website, which I strongly encourage you to check out.
