Description: A beacon in the landscape with it prolific flower display and captivating transition from its lavender overlay (which I haven't captured well in the photos) to its cream resting colour. This cultivar blooms very heavily, often completely obscuring all foliage when in full bloom. Prominent rounded red flares emanate from the base of the petals, giving the blooms an extra sprinkle of character. Pastel Splendor is extremely vigorous. The registrant makes note that a mature plant had 70 stems. This one's an easy and rewarding cultivar to grow. Strong, rigid stems hold the flower upright under all conditions, as expected of an intersectional peony, and attractive, deep green Itoh type foliage results in a good looking plant all season long. Many side buds extend the blooming period.
